WILLMAR — Residents of New London, Spicer and Willmar are invited to participate in a mayors’ bike ride at 5 p.m. Friday to a picnic in Spicer.
New London Mayor Bill Gossman, Spicer Mayor Denny Baker and Willmar Mayor Pro-Tem Denis Anderson will lead riders from their communities to the picnic at the Lion’s Shelter in downtown Spicer.
The ride and picnic are free but advance registration is required.
Register by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, starting community and number of riders, or call the Willmar Lakes Area Convention and Visitors Bureau at 320-235-3552, ext. 1 or 2, and talk to Tanya Rosenau or Beth Fischer.
Starting locations are:
– Spicer — Glacial Lakes State Trail parking lot across from Mel’s Sport Shop on U.S. Highway 23.
– New London — Parking lot across from the American Legion.
– Willmar — Glacial Lakes State Trail parking lot at Kandiyohi County Road 26. This is not the trailhead parking lot at the Willmar Civic Center because Sonshine will be in progress at that time.
The Spicer Beautification/Design Committee is hosting the picnic.
