I’ve seen steel and I’ve seen aluminum.
There’s carbon fiber, titanium and even bamboo.
But cardboard?!
An inventor in Israel, 50-year-old Izhar Gafni, has made a working bicycle out of cardboard, according to a Reuters report featured on Yahoo! News.
It took the bicycle enthusiast and designer of automated mass production lines a year and a half to get it right.
Gafni and his partner will begin setting up a factory in Israel in months and hope to have bikes will cost about $20 for sale within a year.
Both the bike and the manufacturing process will be game changers, Gafni said.
